Marketing and Business Operations Analyst. Reporting to the Group Manager, Marketing Business Process and Operations, you will be a key member of the team that ensures the SIE Global Marketing budgets are tracked in an accurate, timely and consistent fashion. You are incredibly organized and structured in your approach to managing business finances and budgets!
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Tracking Processes: Lead and support budget expenditure tracking processes for assigned marketing client business units. Provide detailed tracking templates and ensure teams know how to use them. Provide input and recommendations for global marketing purchase order, invoice and vendor management processes.
- Portfolio Expenditure Reporting: Manage portfolio-wide accrual, reclass, prepaid and capex expense tracking; developing template and consolidating reports when working with Accounting, AP and Purchasing
- Budget Analysis: Work closely with strategy and budget planning teams to ensure client team budgets are consistently measured, tracked and reconciled; Provide detailed explanations for discrepancies.
- Internal Consulting: Work with multiple partners, management, and various related departments to optimize process across budget expenditure management
- Business process improvement: Manage centralized repository of processes to minimize complexities and optimize to promote efficient business and marketing operations. Propose and execute upon optimal process creation working closely with finance, accounting and marketing teams
- Training: Train and mentor new hires within business units on proper expenditure and budget tracking
- Contract Support: Provide short-term contract management support on an as-needed basis: Includes negotiating and handling deal terms working together with legal and marketing business unit, vendor set-up, coordinating with purchasing.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support to marketing teams by partnering closely with AP, Accounting and Purchasing to help troubleshoot issues with invoice processing, vendor management or financial system-related issues.
- Support client teams in tracking budgets and impact on monthly, quarterly and annual planning
Related experience/education:
- BS degree in Finance, Economics or related field or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years related work experience
- Working experience as a finance or business analyst
- Experience working with financial software systems such as SAP, Hyperion
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, G suite and financial software applications
- Outstanding communication skills; ability to build and manage internal team relationships with client-oriented, solution-focused approach
- Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis
- Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, changing, fast-paced environment!
- Ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects and tasks
- Ability to work across all groups within a matrix organization
- Proven ability to effectively facilitate a training session, one on one, or with a group
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems and provide recommendations
- Openness to learning and mastering new financial systems and software as needed
