Role overview:

The Creative Services Group (CSG) at Sony Interactive Entertainment is an award winning internal creative agency. We deliver projects in collaboration with our game development and marketing teams, structured around eight core disciplines; Graphic Design, UI/UX, Motion, Video, Film, Sound, Music and
Programming.

We are looking for a Junior Music Editor to join our in-house music team to help us deliver high quality music experiences for various Sony development projects. The primary function of the role will be to provide music implementation, editing, and production support to Sony titles. The ideal candidate must be passionate about making great game content, be self-sufficient, a strong problem-solver, and be an effective communicator.

This is an opportunity to work on high profile titles within a friendly and dedicated award-winning music team.

Whilst understanding of music composition is a benefit this is not a music composition role. Please apply with a demo reel / portfolio. Submissions without work examples will not be considered.

What you'll be doing:

  • Implement music using game engine and audio middleware tools.
  • Follow and assist in the creative and technical execution of the music vision.
  • Edit AAA quality music assets in different styles and genres.
  • Play test and debug music systems to ensure playback is as intended and fit for commercial release.
  • Collaborate on the distribution of technical resources for the implementation of the music score.
  • Pro-actively participate in the development and support of new music tools.
  • Build and maintain effective and consistent mix architectures.

What we're looking for:

  • Ability to learn new tools for integrating music content
  • A keen ear for high quality music and audio.
  • Self-disciplined, able to meet deadlines and to report progress to producers
  • Understanding of professional audio tools such as (but not limited to) ProTools and Cubase / Nuendo
  • Knowledge of signal processing tools such as compressors, limiters, equalizers, etc.
  • Skills with implementing game music or audio using tools such as Sony’s Scream, Wwise, Fmod, Maya, Unreal, Unity, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines while maintaining professional respect and courtesy to developers and team members
  • Relevant accredited education in the field of music \ audio \ game design
