Role overview:

The SIE IT Office PMO sets priorities for SIE IT according to the strategic goals of the business and helps choose which IT programmes and IT projects to undertake based upon what will provide optimal business value.

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to plan, schedule and manage the execution of IT projects - all while working within the constraints imposed by stakeholders, budget, internal resources or external factors.

You will be responsible for delivering projects that implement and enhance exploit information and technology solutions, overseeing the full project lifecycle: from requirements analysis and definition through to solution/service design, development, testing and implementation.

You will be responsible for delivering projects that implement and enhance business-facing products and services to support PlayStation’s European Business Operations (Finance, Sales and Operations). You will oversee the full project lifecycle: from requirements analysis and definition through to solution/service design, development, testing and implementation.

You will co-ordinate internal and external (vendors/third parties) resources in the flawless execution of projects. You will develop and encourage a positive and productive project team which will always look to adapt to changes and setbacks by seeking the best outcome for PlayStation.

IT Project Delivery

Taking on responsibility for the delivery of (sometimes multiple, concurrent) IT projects in adherence to the standards, processes, methods, tools and techniques laid out by the SIE IT Office PMO;

Performing project management activities, including but not limited to:

  • Facilitating project scoping and initiation, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;
  • Defining project team roles and responsibilities, and delegating project tasks appropriately;
  • Developing detailed project plans to monitor and track progress;
  • Managing changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs;
  • Tracking and reporting upon project health;
  • Ensuring project resource availability and allocation;
  • Providing information and recommendations to decision-makers at all levels;
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with third parties/vendors;
  • Resolving conflicts and brokering agreement between stakeholders with conflicting requirements or goals;

  • Sufficient technical knowledge to understand and communicate interactions among complex computer systems in business terms;
  • Managing the full lifecycle of technology-enabled change, from requirements definition through to solution build, testing and transition to live operation;
  • Implementation of a wide range of IT application projects involving:
    • ERP and Business Intelligence Solutions;
    • B2B Workflow Applications;
    • Product Information Management;
    • Product Data Management;
    • Data interfaces and system integration;
  • Broad and sound understanding of one or more of the following areas is desirable:
    • Finance processes and an appreciation of finance terminology;
    • Exposure to systems that handle high volume financial transactional processing;
    • Financial reporting and reconciliation;
    • Supply chain and logistics in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment;
    • Product data management including Bill of Materials;
    • Data interfaces and system integration;
  • IT supplier management, including supplier selection and commercial negotiations;
  • Working with ITIL, Prince2 & Agile methodologies;
  • Working with a diverse range of stakeholders and audiences within a matrix organisation;
  • Excellent at influencing and negotiation, comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders and willing to challenge them based on sound reasoning;
  • Excellent written, verbal, social and decision-making skills, are self-motivated and highly organised;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Working with the following tools (or similar):
    • Issue Tracking (e.g. JIRA, Service Now)
    • Collaboration (e.g. Confluence, Trello)
    • Communication (e.g. Slack, Webex, Skype for Business)
  • Working within controlled/compliance-based environments would be beneficial
