We are looking for an experienced External Art Manager to join the Haven Interactive Studios project team. As an External Art Manager, you will own daily workflows and communications between our internal Art teams and our external Art partners. You will work with the Outsourcing Producer and leadership team to establish production best practices and to put in place an asset production tracking system to organize, catalog, and track asset development.

Reporting

The External Art Manager will report to the Outsourcing Producer.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Schedule art content in collaboration with internal art leadership (3D Modeling) and production

  • Collaborate in building and maintaining documentation of our art direction and asset pipelines to be able to effectively and confidently review assets, solve and anticipate problems and communicate feedback

  • Integrate assets in engine to review technical requirements and artistic quality

  • Provide clear and concise technical and artistic feedback to external artists

  • Manage external team schedules and ensure they are in sync with project milestones

  • Act as a key communicator, bridging the internal art teams with external partners

  • Establish and develop excellent working relationships with our production partners

  • Ensure external teams have all the information they need to produce art in line with the game vision

  • Build and maintain an inclusive work environment between internal and external teams

Experience and Skills Required

  • At least 2 years of experience in similar management positions such as External Art Manager, Art Lead, Outsourcing Manager or other relevant position.

  • Experience working as a game artist, Environment or Generalist artist

  • Good understanding of development methodologies, best practices, production life cycle, tools and processes.

  • Expert in Jira and Excel/GSheet

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Unreal Engine

  • Experience with Creative production management software such as ShotGrid

  • Great interpersonal communication skills with an ability to successfully partner across and at all levels of a team and organization.

  • Experience launching and operating live service games with a solid understanding of development best practices for Games As A Service.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, displaying flexibility and adaptability to adjust plans and strategies as new information is gained or as project conditions change.
