Director, Corporate Strategy

San Mateo, CA / Hybrid

As the Director, Corporate Strategy you will report to SIE’s Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Development (CSD), and collaborate with senior executives, business units and CSD colleagues to advance PlayStation’s growth strategy and agenda.

Responsibilities:

The Director, Corporate Strategy is a senior leader who will drive cross-functional projects, including preparing long term trends analyses and forecasts, driving strategic and transformational recommendations for our business and business units, developing strategic frameworks to guide executive decision making and bringing thought leadership and informed points of view to emerging, longer-term opportunities.

You will bring both process and content leadership to strategy projects and act as the point person between CSD and cross-functional business teams. The ideal candidate has a track record of assessing new markets, trends and technology disruptions, and working across organizations to make pragmatic, concrete recommendations, based on strong market and competitive analysis and insights, tempered with real world implementation experience.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, or related roles

  • Previous experience and a clear passion for gaming and/or content, media, entertainment, technology

  • Deep knowledge of business models, market dynamics and industry participants in these sectors and informed points of view of the future direction of the market

  • Established and strong external industry network at the intersection of gaming, entertainment, media and technology

  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for understanding the fundamental drivers of business success and competitive advantage

  • Direct experience with scenario planning, strategic discussion workshops and/or war-gaming exercises

  • Proven track record of developing effective relationships and collaborating across all levels and functions across complex organizations

  • The ability to develop a point of view and influence others, while remaining open minded; this person can be an active participant in a healthy debate

  • Strong executive presence; comfortable engaging in discussion and presenting to executives

  • An entrepreneurial attitude that is results oriented and self-motivated; tenacity and patience to overcome potential challenges

  • A strong work ethic. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail; ability to handle confidentiality

  • Experience attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse team

  • Global experience and cross culture sensitivity

  • Structured quantitative and qualitative approach to problem solving

  • Strong presentation and communication skills and he ability to distill complex ideas into simple, clear messages

  • Expert proficiency with appropriate business productivity software and applications

  • BA required

  • MBA preferred

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$206,600—$309,800 USD
