Role Overview:

The Creative Services Group (CSG) at Sony Interactive Entertainment is an award winning internal creative agency. We deliver projects in collaboration with our game development and marketing teams, structured around eight core disciplines; Graphic Design, UI/UX, Motion, Video, Film, Sound, Music and Programming.

We are looking for an experienced Dialogue Supervisor to join our Sound team and head up VO efforts for the group; creating and managing high quality dialogue content for various Sony development projects. The ideal candidate must be passionate about making great game content, be self-sufficient, a strong problem-solver, an effective communicator and have outstanding organisational skills.

What you'll be doing:

  • Close collaboration with the Sound team, game development studios and producers to push the bar for creating sonically rich, high-quality games.
  • Lead and champion dialogue in all titles, delivering world-class content.
  • Manage and maintain dialogue assets, schedules and budgets for multiple projects.
  • Organise dialogue assets required by each project in a logical way to best facilitate implementation and final execution.
  • Work in partnership with key team members at the game development studios and various internal studio partners to create and facilitate an audio pipeline, documents and foundation for dialogue.
  • Liaise with our award-winning Localisation Services team to support the successful and efficient localisation of dialogue content, including ensuring the appropriate mastering and engineering of localised files to match final original dialogue production as required on a per-project basis.
  • Collaborate with internal R&D teams to develop tools and optimisations to our dialogue pipeline.

What we're looking for:

  • Demonstrable years experience in game audio, including multiple shipped AAA titles
  • Experience with all phases of dialogue production and post-production, including recording, editing and mastering
  • Expert use with professional audio tools such as (but not limited to) ProTools, Reaper, SoundForge, Adobe Audition, iZotope RX, etc.
  • Knowledge of signal processing tools such as compressors, limiters, equalisers, etc.
  • Proven and demonstrable qualifications in dialogue editorial and mixing for pre-rendered linear cinematics of varying complexity and content styles
  • Proven qualifications with implementing game dialogue or audio using tools such as Sony’s Scream, Wwise, Fmod, Maya, Unreal, Unity, etc.
  • Mixing in multiple formats such as surround (7.1 & 5.1), etc.
  • Understanding of which microphones and recording hardware to use for each recording objective, with a focus on Voice Over, ADR and Motion Capture dialogue
  • Proven experience working with game development teams and coordinating with various game departments such as production, script writers, designers, producers, animators, localisation teams, etc.
  • Proven record of professionally written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on pressure and tight deadlines while maintaining professional respect and courtesy to developers and team members
  • Must have a credited record of leading dialogue related work on shipped AAA titles
  • Experience coordinating complex time-sensitive projects and strong time management skills
  • Relevant accredited education in the field of audio \ sound design \ television \ broadcasting \ game design

Desired qualifications:

  • Knowledge or familiarity of scripting languages such as LUA, Python, etc.
