Role overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join PlayStation’s Studios IT Team. As a Desktop Analyst you will be working closely with our game development teams getting an insider view on the latest and greatest from Sony PlayStation

You will have access to the latest technology working in a development environment where all hardware is pushed to the very limit. This is a challenging role where you will be supporting teams working on future games including virtual reality for Sony PlayStation.

High level role description includes:

  • 1st to 2nd line support
  • Desktop setup and configuration and support
  • Providing remote access support
  • Studio moves
  • Potential to learn infrastructure (Linux, Win Servers, VMWare, SAN etc)

Provision of desktop support services for gaming developers, including game development kits, audio visual technology, HD television equipment and telephony.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Desktop software and hardware troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Workstation and laptop setup and hardware/software upgrades.
  • Software updates and changes.
  • Monitor and TV setup and configuration.
  • Provision of first line (Service Desk management including incident queue monitoring and second line (problem evaluation).
  • Devkit provision and setup.
  • Calling in maintenance and third-party support as required.
  • All associated desktop cabling.
  • Ensure that the provision of services is compliant with Security Policies.
  • Provision and setup of IT peripherals.
  • Provision and support of telephony equipment.
  • Keeping IT facilities tidy and organised.
  • Periodic specialist event support.
  • Management of AV installations and meeting room IT technologies.
  • Network patching and port allocation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Ability to go above and beyond expectations

Specialist technology expertise is expected in one or more of the following areas:

  • Workstation build management.
  • Video Conferencing support
  • Ensure that support responsibilities are dispatched in compliance with security policy and within security policy guidelines.
  • Detailed development kit versioning and configuration.
  • Mac workstation support.
  • Audio and video software support and configuration.
  • Telephony support and administration.
  • Deployment of desktop security solutions (encryption technologies, anti-virus)
  • Event support.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of an onsite support role, involving desktop support and software
  • Experience of using a service desk and prioritising own work.
  • Detailed desktop operating system knowledge / experience with experience of troubleshooting Windows.
  • Understanding and experience of the gaming industry, or of working in a creative industry is desirable.
  • Some understanding of version control systems (Perforce, GitHub) and build / automation processes (Jenkins) is desirable

  • Knowledge of ITIL in particular incident management.
