Corporate Communications Senior Manager
San Mateo, CA
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Corporate Communications is looking for a new team member to help develop, manage, and execute communications strategies, assets, and messaging to further SIE’s business story internally and externally. The role will work closely with SIE’s finance and legal team (including corporate development and M&A).
The person in this role will help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of communications and will find areas where we can provide strategic insight to the rest of the company. You will work to grow a strong fundamental understanding of our business and help leaders consistently, and accurately communicate SIE’s strategic positioning.
This role is based at SIE’s headquarters in San Mateo, California with flexibility for remote work within the United States. You must be fluent in written and spoken English and Japanese.
What you’ll be doing
- Coordinate SIE’s role and content for partner meetings, analyst meetings, press conferences, and other venues and channels
- Develop presentations that tell our compelling narrative with proof-points sought by the business community
- Assist in preparation of earnings-related materials for management
- Partner closely with communications team members to align on internal and external narratives that include business related information
- Support interviews with business press, including Japanese language press
- Assist the team in various cross-functional internal projects as needed
What we’re looking for
- Fluency in English and Japanese is required for this role
- Minimum 12 years in communications (preferably in gaming or consumer tech)
- Strong media relations experience and proven track record of successfully contributing to coverage in news outlets focused on business, tech, and financial topics
- Exceptional communications skills (in English and Japanese) to distill complex data into simple and digestible language accessible to a variety of audiences (analysts, financial and tech press, employees, etc.)
- An understanding of financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and processes is a plus
- Strong project management skills and experience working on multiple projects cross functionally with teams in a corporate environment
- Experience and ability to think strategically
- BA/BS degree
