Role: Business Intelligence Manager (GSBO)

Role Overview:

The Direct to Consumer team are part of a vibrant Global Sales organization whose mission is to grow the lifetime value of PlayStation customers by providing world leading customer centric retail experiences. D2C brings together staff from around the world, with a passion for engaging PlayStation gamers with relevant and entertaining content. Our area of Sony Interactive Entertainment has seen significant growth in recent years and has now become the key revenue driver for the business.

The D2C Planning team drives accountability for business results through empowering leadership with data & intelligence, implementing KPI frameworks linked to our goals and accurate forecasting & planning. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by being part of a truly global team, who are passionate about e-commerce and inspired by being at the forefront of gaming monetisation.

Reporting to the Director, Reporting & Insights the BI Manager, PSD will be responsible for establishing and building Global sales reporting for the emerging PS Direct Business. We’re looking for an experienced Analytics professional with the vision and technical capability to empower the commercial team with data & insights. This role calls for a combination of critical thinking, analytics and project & stakeholder management. The successful candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, and be motivated by a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Anticipate reporting and business insight needs, manage expectations of the business customers and shape a shared vision around reporting priorities
  • Define reporting objectives & business requirements with stakeholders and establish the necessary process changes to achieve these
  • Overall responsibility of delivery of requests
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders across multiple levels and create a collaborative way of working
  • Scale capacity and expertise as PS Direct expands globally
  • Act as a thought leader to identify and define new frameworks as the business scales
  • This is a hands-on role working across a variety of teams. You will develop and maintain positive relationships with a core group of partners across the organisation, especially Planning and Data engineering
  • Advanced Analytics: build, maintain and communicate time-critical & accurate business performance to leadership via multiple communication routes to assist decision-making
  • Advanced analysis: Analyse key business drivers, trends and performance indicators to deliver insights to leadership
  • Advanced reporting: build & execute a transformational report delivery strategy moving D2C to self-serve reporting

What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years’ experience in data and analytics
  • eCommerce experience essential
  • Candidates are required to be highly analytical with strong technical skills including SQL, Excel and BI/ data visualization tools
  • Passion for using data-driven insights to improve customer experience
  • Excellent analytical abilities and strong business acumen
  • Experience in senior stakeholder management and in project management essential
  • This person must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and focus on generating results
  • The successful candidate must display, through attitude and accomplishments, strong initiative for anticipating and meeting the reporting & insight needs of senior leadership
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills: being a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate practical insights
  • This person must be a solutions-oriented problem solver with a focus on generating impact
