Associate, Business Development (Global Business Development Team)
Do you want to work at a company where customers have a real excitement for the products you help build? PlayStation is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Business Development Associate to join our PlayStation Business Development team.
The Associate will be a member of the Sony Interactive Entertainment Strategic Alliances team and help drive business development activities across the PlayStation platform.
You will contribute to new third-party partnership deal opportunities from initiation, negotiation, closing, and continued account management. Internally, you will champion projects, build financial models for deal analysis, develop strategic frameworks, and ensure successful launches.
You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Developer Support, Product Planning, R&D, Project Management, PR and more to define partner revenue generation, co-marketing strategies and oversee implementation.
You will participate in the development and ongoing refinement of the overall PlayStation non-game strategy globally and video strategy for PlayStation in conjunction with the Strategic Planning team and other internal groups.
Responsibilities
- Identify new sources of revenue and services opportunities related to premium app partners on the PlayStation network
- Work closely and collaboratively with internal marketing teams, research, product marketing, project management, engineering, product planning and legal to coordinate and execute premium app partners’ programs/opportunities
- Evaluate potential business partners to accelerate the expansion of digital media businesses as well as improve overall consumer value propositions
- Coordinate internal and external resources in support of new products in the pipeline
- Manage and improve relationships with key media and technology partners
- Craft business terms and contribute to deal negotiations
- Define business models for new product opportunities and develop business case and implementation plans
- Develop robust financial models for deal analysis to determine structure, support proposals, and influence negotiations for launching new services
- Identify and research emerging market trends, develop strategic frameworks and build supporting analyses to prioritize company resources
- Present business proposals and updates to partners up to the Executive level
- Develop and report on critical metrics relative to Business Development activities
- Schedule and drive quarterly reviews partners for various revenue-generating and marketing engagements
- Identify strategic marketing opportunities with premium media app partners in conjunction with product planning and project management
- Identify and develop partner roadmap, opportunities from concept/ideation into robust business cases to deliver industry-leading curated media app content for PlayStation gamers
- Research and analyze industry/market trends, new business opportunities using various research sources and forecast methodologies.
Qualifications:
- BS or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in media, entertainment, digital media, business development, consulting, investment banking, technology or gaming industries
- Outstanding relationship skills, including the ability to work with international teams
- Knowledge of digital entertainment, including distribution models, platforms and types of content
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including data analysis and financial modeling
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations
- Strong computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Spanish and experience in Latin American markets a plus
