The Pittsburgh Knights are a global esports organization headquartered in Pittsburgh. Founded in 2017, they are the first professional esports team of the city and are focused on making an impact in the local community. Our mission is to carry on the tradition of Pittsburgh sports by playing with grit, intelligence, integrity, and teamwork - that is just as true for our staff as it is for our players; our teams include some of the top competitive gamers in the world. In 2018, the Knights partnered with six-time Super Bowl champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

DESCRIPTION

Time Frame: 15 weeks; January 6th, 2020 - April 17th, 2020 Tentative

Internship Summary:

Join us in building one of the newest and most exciting entertainment companies in Pittsburgh!

As a startup, we are currently being incubated in Pittsburgh Steelers offices and have the opportunity to learn from their amazing team every day. With all of our initiatives, access, projects, and adventures in new media, there is never a dull moment with the Pittsburgh Knights!

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Undertake brand and industry research and provide recommendations
  • Research potential partner's current sponsorship involvement in esports and/or any other sponsorship involvement they may have in the sports world.
  • Update CRM progam with correct contact information for potential and current corporate partners.
  • Help develop pitch decks and presentations
  • Other projects as determined by supervisor
  • Interns will report directly to the Business Development team.
  • We do suggest that the interns earn class credit for his/her time with the team as this is an otherwise unpaid internship.
  • Availability schedule includes day and evening hours, as well as holidays and weekends.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:

  • Enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship, May 2020 graduates are still eligible
  • Ability to work at Pittsburgh Knight’s office in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Creativity and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with PowerPoint and/or Google Slides
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;

Language Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheet software.
