Job Description

  • Mentoring, managing and leading the creature animation team
  • Work with designers ensure gameplay animation needs are met
  • Work with engineers and tech animation to ensure good animation systems are in place and animations are fit for purpose.
  • Work with production to ensure estimates and tasking align with timelines and milestone requirements, and raise any red flags as production progresses.
  • Working with the Principle Animator to help set the guidelines, standards and quality bar for creature animation
  • Advocate for the needs of the creature animation team

Qualifications

  • Significant experienced with Maya, specializing in keyframe animation
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in game animation
  • Experience working on at least one published AAA title
  • Expert understanding of anatomy and character movement
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly provide technical feedback into animations, rigs, toolsets and pipelines

PREFERENCE TO APPLICANTS WITH

  • Specialization in creature animation
  • Previous Lead experience
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unreal 5 animation production pipelines
