What is Blizzard Esports Infrastructure IT?
Our team’s mission statement: Innovating and delivering global technology solutions to power the most epic entertainment experience... Ever. Our team is challenged with building out global enterprise level network infrastructure, utilizing on-prem, cloud, and multi 3rd party networking technologies to deliver our platforms and services. (Cisco, A10, Palo Alto, VMWare, EMC, AWS, OpenStack, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Translate high-level business strategic objectives, limited project scope, team and cross team goals into network technology requirements and conceptual architecture
- Develop and support comprehensive network solutions that meet requirements and integrate into the overall enterprise network and security architectures
- Participate in IT network infrastructure project design, reviews, cross organizational network related projects, and ensure network architecture goals and requirements are standardized
- Work with and across global data center architecture, both US and international pops, and remote venues to design and implement large or localized network infrastructures
- Design and implement cloud architectures, software defined networking, data center switching technologies, and securing virtual environments (AWS, Azure, Google, Openstack)
- Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
- Support and collaborate on the development, implementation and administration of processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, recoverability, and optimum performance of network infrastructure systems and solutions
- Collaborate with IT Security and IT Infrastructure Operations ensuring network compliance, auditing, and security standards are being met
Technical Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with networking and network protocols:
- TCP/IP, routing, Palo Alto firewalls, Inflobox, DNS, DHCP, F5 LTM, SSH, VPNs
- IP routing protocols including RIP, BGP, OSPF, IP Multicast, MPLS
- TCP/IP data networks using standards and technologies including but not limited to:
- Ethernet, OSPF, IGMP, STP, RSTP, 802.1q, 802.11n, and 802.11ac
- Experience with Policy Based Routing, Quality of Service, Netflow, Wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, virtual networks, NAT, ACL controls, Web Security/URL Filtering, IPSec, Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Malware Prevention
- Network scripting or automation experience with Ansible, Python, and/or Powershell
- IPv4 and IPv6 experience is must
- Experience in firewall design and in network security including:
- Device Hardening
- IDS/IPS
- SIEM
- Firewalls
- IPSec, vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection
- Strong WAN experience managing global network infrastructure
- Operational experience running a large-scale infrastructure (24x7x365)
- Knowledge or experience of DevOps CI/CD models
- Knowledge or experience with ITIL v3
- Workflow experience with Agile or Scrum
Education, Experience, and Certifications Desired
- CCIE, CCAr, CCDE, Certifications required (one or all)
- Implementation, supporting, and troubleshooting media streaming services or platforms
- Video distribution, delivery of content, encoding, transcoding, encapsulation, on-demand, video security, and video processing
- Network experience working with Media Access Managers (MAM)
- MPEG encoders, decoders
- CDN, video streaming experience
- Microsoft or Linux certifications
- AWS, Azure, Google Cloud related certifications
- SBE or STE Certifications (Broadcast Certifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience
- 10 years of progressive experience in network architecture, design, engineering and implementation in global IT networks, with added pluses of network security experience and background
