Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an experienced influencer relations specialist who’s passionate about the video game industry, esports, player communities, and influencer engagement. The candidate should be ready to take on responsibility for building relationships with content creators and influencers on behalf of the Overwatch League. This role works closely with the Overwatch League’s PR and marketing teams to identify and support content creation opportunities with influencers to drive engagement among league fans and viewers. The ideal candidate is driven, a student of brand marketing and communication, knowledgeable about esports and possesses a proven track record of building positive influencer relations in the entertainment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Research and provide recommendations of appropriate influencer/ talent and entertainment opportunities for Overwatch League projects
  • Develop and manage ongoing partnership activities with content creators across all social media platforms
  • Create engagement opportunities both in-person at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles and online, targeting influential current and future fans of the Overwatch League
  • Recommend programs and formulate contracts that can encompass a wide range of activations, including social media, online content creation and in-person appearances
  • Draft and negotiate talent and entertainment contracts, coordinating with team members, talent representation and the legal team
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism – create and give talent recommendations and other presentations to senior executives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with talent agents, managers and publicists
  • Monitor and keep abreast of industry news, generate and share trend reports
  • Track influencer and talent obligations and ensure fulfillment
  • Negotiate PR obligations in talent contracts
  • Create and manage project budgets
  • Work with team members to manage and facilitate payment of talent

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, business, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in influencer marketing, public relations and/or brand management
  • Demonstrated track record of activating influencer partnerships from start to finish
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with social and digital marketing; experienced with social media and influencers tools and programs (Tap Influencer, Tagger, or similar)
  • Voracious appetite for consuming news and keeps abreast of pop culture and social media trends
  • Keen understanding of esports with an eye for identifying target-right talent and influencers
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, manage up and drive critical priorities
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally, and work nights and weekends when needed

Pluses

  • A passionate gamer possessing ample experience with Blizzard games and/or esports
  • Has a strong network within the sports or entertainment industries, and/or Blizzard’s communities, specifically the Overwatch esports ecosystem
