Overtime is looking for a Marketing Manager in NY to support the team’s Marketing & Sales Strategy efforts. This position requires someone who is both a strategic & creative thinker. Someone who is endlessly curious, a passionate collaborator and cares deeply about bringing both fresh solutions and measurable results to our clients. This role (and team) is an embedded and indispensable partner to the sales org and uses their deep knowledge of marketing, content, social media trends, sports, and brand-knowledge to influence and deliver integrated sales and marketing programs for advertising/brand partners.

About Overtime

Based in NYC, Overtime is funded by top venture capital firms like Andreessen Horowitz and Spark and by industry leaders like Kevin Durant and NBA Commissioner Emeritus David Stern. Overtime is building the biggest sports network in the world for the next generation of fans. We use tech, new platforms, and new formats to drive a billion video views every month. We publish our short-form content and long-form series across 7 platforms focusing on basketball, football, soccer, and gaming. We own a pro esports team, have a fast-growing apparel business, and basically do everything differently from a standard media company. Overtime is led by seasoned entrepreneurs with deep experience in the intersecting worlds of sports and media, and a strong track record of building successful startups and guiding them through acquisition.

What you'll do

  • Experience with developing sellable integrated marketing opportunities - both reactively and proactively - through the packaging of OT programming, data & insights, social expertise, and more.
  • Demonstrate success working cross-functionally and collaboratively to build internal relationships that translate into meaningful outputs, with an emphasis on:
  • RFP submissions
  • Proactive presentations and onesheets
  • Go-to-market / general presentation slides
  • Case studies
  • Digestible research and stats
  • You’re a storyteller: You don’t compile slides - you understand the agency/client’s challenge and develop a narrative that makes them feel heard, delivers against their objectives, and illuminates Overtime’s creative potential, desirable audience, and measurable value.
  • Represent Overtime as a thought leader and leaned-in partner in crafting stories around our data & insights, as well as our deep-rooted knowledge of the Gen Z / Post Millennial audience.
  • Play for the front of the jersey - you see your success as inextricably tied to the team’s success. You’d rather see others’ names in lights than your own. You do what is right for the business.
  • Sharp business acumen and professional maturity. Self-starter that has a relentless passion for knowing more and doing their best work, balanced with deep respect for the skills that others bring to the table.
  • Creative energy and drive to think outside of the box. Lead ideation and brainstorming sessions that extract fresh thinking from attendees and results in actionable next steps.
  • Long term: serve as a coach and mentor to future junior members of the team.

Who you are

  • BA/BS degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar publisher or media sales marketing role. Also valuing multi-disciplinary experience which includes time at an ad agency, on the client-side, at a tech co/platform, etc.
  • Strong writer with the ability to compile inputs from various sources and architect a concise and easy-to-understand deliverable to be sent to brand/agency partners.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, entrepreneurial environment where the only thing constant is change itself
  • Experience in building creative social/digital media and sponsorship programs at scale that drive brand awareness and high user engagement
  • Deep understanding of Overtime, today’s social-first sports and publishing landscape, content and fully distributed models
