You are a driven and experienced Senior 2D Character Artist; someone who loves to create engaging and fun characters by illustrating world-class game art will delight players all over the world. Your knowledge and passion make you a confident mentor for others in producing game art to exacting technical standards. An individual who wants to be at the beating heart of the UK’s largest independent mobile developer, and an intrinsic part of a community of dedicated crafters and players.

Your Responsibilities

  • You'll be able to produce high quality, beautifully rendered character illustrations for our mobile content and marketing imagery.
  • You'll produce inspiring, appropriate concepts and designs for game characters.
  • You’ll use your skills to design and produce general illustrations for use throughout our products.
  • You’ll help establish an art style or help refine and maintain consistency of an established visual direction.
  • You’ll help guide and educate others in digital art techniques.
  • You’ll help create or refine artwork pipelines to facilitate ongoing content updates.
  • You’ll inspire others and exchange feedback.

About You

  • You have a strong portfolio demonstrating your refined digital painting and illustration skills for games.
  • You can adapt your style and technique to suit different visual styles and requirements of mobile games development.
  • You have strong conceptual design and composition skills, and a great sense of colour, lighting, perspective, and anatomy.
  • You have the ability to bring game objects to life through animation or visual effects.
  • You have the ability to imbue characters with personality and purpose.
  • You are an experienced user of Adobe products. (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • You know how to work effectively within a team and technical parameters.
  • You are able to interpret design ideas and feedback into elegant visual solutions.

Bonus Experience

  • Relevant Unity training and technical knowledge.
  • 3D modelling skills in Maya or equivalent.
  • Character animation experience in Spine or equivalent.
