In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing research and develop to solve complex problems that directly impact final product quality, cost and delivery of Oculus products. You will define and implement manufacturing process using advance robotic system and computer vision for highly precision assembly placement. You will be a key member of the Technical Operations team and will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners providing early and on-going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are manufacture-able from concept, to mass production and through end of life.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Design Engineers to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges by following best DFx practices and principles.
  • Develop manufacturing processes at the factory and to drive line, fixture qualifications, line layout optimization and throughput requirement
  • Work closely with contact manufacturer to develop new or improved assembly fixture and automation system to enhance product quality and production efficiency
  • Continually tracking the latest in manufacturing technologies and processes in order to leverage them for FB products.
  • Capture all build issues during engineering build, work out corrective action with cross function team

Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent (MSME, MSIE desired)
  • 5+ years in engineering role with experience in product design as well as manufacturing engineering
  • Experience in realizing consumer electronics product in mass production which involves precision mechanical parts assembly and high cosmetic requirements
  • Experience in production line development techniques including flow chart, cycle time calculation, UPH setup, line layout & balance, SOP, etc.,
  • Experience in advanced analysis & problem-solving techniques including DOE, failure analysis, CpK, GR&R, PFMEA etc.
  • Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English
  • Ability to communicate effectively in worldwide environment
  • Able to understand and challenge tolerance stack ups for assemblies to meet gap/step requirement. Working knowledge of GD&T, data analysis using JMP a plus
  • Proficient in the use of 3D mechanical design tools. Such as Pro-E, NX or Catia etc.,
  • Moderate travel within Mainland China with some travel to Asia Pacific region and US
