Job: Director, Manufacturing / Supply Management

Job description: The Director, Manufacturing / Supply Management contributes to NZXT’s mission by leading and overseeing global supply, inventory strategies and execution, lead time, and contractual planning processes; and working across many functions and Business Units including demand planning, supply planning, production planning, inventory planning, lifecycle management, and excess & obsolescence inventory while always considering the capacity and constraints of manufacturing. Reporting to the COO, the ideal candidate is a skilled and experienced Supply Chain professional with the ability to perform as a high level, strategic individual contributor who engenders a 'one mission, one team' mindset.

Responsibilities:

The Director, Manufacturing / Supply Management has the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Develop and implement strategies to secure consistent supply of materials to meet corporate objectives, identifying gaps and developing solutions to meet the rapidly changing demands of the company
  • Streamline, automate, and simplify processes through the deployment of tools and data analytics, working closely with IT groups to define system requirements
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and factories in Asia in order to assume responsibility for all aspects of supplier performance from on-time delivery to resolution of any necessary supplier corrective actions
  • Assesses and selects suppliers whose quality standards and culture/values align with ours
  • Identify key suppliers and implement plans to mitigate risk to product supply
  • Negotiate key supplier agreements and purchase contracts to decrease long term issues in the supply chain
  • Forecast procurement costs on an annual, quarterly and monthly basis; actively and effectively provide reliable input costs for the annual budget process
  • Determine level of inventory investment levels at partner factories, turns and safety stocks, and work with inventory planning to develop buffer strategies at finished goods and component level
  • Partner with Operations to reduce aggregate lead time to build product and optimize margins
  • Partner with Product Development and Engineering in a way that assumes full ownership of the front end and effective handoff to these stakeholders
  • Reduce working capital through decreased lead time, lot size and volume of inventory
  • Reduce DPO (days payment outstanding) through negotiation of terms with suppliers
  • Monitor asset utilization processes for slow moving or obsolete inventory at supplier factories; work with marketing, sales and operations to set up ongoing processes and procedures to reduce and then minimize slow moving and obsolete inventory on a permanent basis
  • Develop supply allocation strategies and ensure optimal stocking levels in all supplier factories & facilities
  • Negotiate supplier agreements, costs and purchase terms and conditions
  • Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons to ensure a best-in-class global supply chain

Requirements:

You should have the following skills, education and experience:

  • BS / BA in business administration or related Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience with progressive responsibility in supply management
  • Supply Chain Management certification (APICS, CPM, CPIM, degree in Supply Management or similar) preferred
  • Experience in global/international demand and supply planning
  • Experience with New Product Introduction is preferred
  • Experience working with suppliers in Asia
  • Bi-lingual Mandarin required
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to guide and influence teams and stakeholders
  • Independent thinker capable of making difficult, business-right decisions
  • Ability to develop complex project plans and then guide a team to deliver results
  • Understanding of the key metrics and KPIs that drive bottom line P&L improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to work across global markets
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, influence and manage key stakeholders, and build strong working relationships
  • Proven understanding of global chain-of-custody and distribution requirements and best practices
  • Skilled at negotiations and contracts
  • Expert knowledge in purchasing practices and methods
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; effective presenter of information and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Effective use of MRP / ERP systems
