Overwatch League team NYXL (New York Excelsior) is looking for a Community Specialist.

Job description

• Must demonstrate a high-level understanding of esports, gaming communities, and competition standards across multiple disciplines of esport
• Monitor and report on trends in global and local esports communities
• Develop a network of esports influencers in New York City including top players, tournament organizers, venue operators, community thought leadership and professional esports organizations
• Work with leadership team to develop and implement a plan for engaging New York esports communities in offline and online competition
• Develop an understanding for what moves the New York gaming community and regularly report on trends that can inform and shape event and content strategy
• Attend community gaming events throughout New York and develop a plan to integrate NYXL and other XL branded assets into the culture of those communities
• Work with New York gaming communities to innovate new formats for casual and competitive play that can be activated within NYXL events
• Understand the requirements of running online and offline gaming competition and manage teams to execute said competitions
• Drive NY gaming influencers into NYXL events discord and organize NY gaming thought leadership there
