NXT UP Esports operates virtual esports leagues for youth players. Through competition, practices, and games, the league teaches players in-game fundamentals as well as character development and life skills that allow them to succeed outside of the game. At NXT UP Esports, our goal is to prove that video games can improve people's self esteem, foster lifelong friendships, and enhance communities.

We are looking for passionate coaches that view gaming the same way we do and want to teach these lessons to young players.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage up to 12 players in weekly practices
  • Offer constructive feedback and positive mentorship to players
  • Foster relationships with between players on their teams
  • Create a fun, social, learning environment for players each week
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication between the players, team and league administrators
  • Work with league administration on practice curriculum and lessons
  • Help to arrange weekly competitions
  • Offer feedback and guidance to league administration on how to improve the program

Qualifications

  • Ranked Contender or higher in Fortnite
  • Experience coaching or mentoring
  • Experience or involvement with collegiate esports program is a plus

Important Details for Coaches

  • Time commitment: approximately 25 hours of work over two and a half months (mid October through December 2021)
    • Two (2) weekly practices (approximately 90 mins each, paid)
    • Up to three (3) coach training and logistic sessions, paid)
  • Coaches must submit to a background check before being hired

About NXT UP Esports

NXT UP Esports is a virtual, coed esports league for young players that want to level up their skills for casual and competitive play. Players will learn to master the fundamental in-game mechanical skills and strategy of the game while building character development and life skills like communication, teamwork, and discipline. We are building a community of like minded players and coaches committed to personal improvement and lifting up those around them.

NXT UP Esports players will practice with their teams during the week and compete against opposing teams on the weekend. Players are assigned to teams based on their age and skill level to ensure competitive matches and that players maximize their improvement. The season finishes with the chance to compete and win the title of NXT UP Esports League Champion!

NXT UP Esports coaches have been selected from the top collegiate esports programs around the country to ensure all NXT UP players receive personal + small group instruction on a variety of in-game skills and topics. NXT UP Esports is the only recreational esports league that provides players with high level coaching designed to get players to the next level in their gaming career and life.
