Working directly alongside the San Francisco Shock’s players in a multimillion dollar content facility, creating daily content with players, coaches and staff.

Collaborating with the General Manager and Vice President to create and execute social media calendar and content strategies.

Role Description

This Social Media Manager and Content producer will be tasked with growing our team’s daily online presence across all of our social media platforms, and overseeing content production with the team in LA with responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Being aware of everything going on in the Overwatch Community on a daily basis and being able to utilize our brand to create relevant content, memes and commentary with our players in real time.
  • Always knowing what our players are doing and having the camera ready to capture what's happening to share with our fans.
  • Collaborating with the Vice President of the team on a monthly social media and content calendar and continually conceptualizing and presenting new content ideas.
  • Growing the San Francisco Shock’s fan base across all of our targeted social media platforms while maintaining our organizations distinction of having the biggest reach and highest engagement in the Overwatch League.
  • Managing our SF Shock Discord.
  • Daily interaction with fans across Social Media executing our brand voice and identity, answering dm’s while addressing or escalating fan feedback.
  • Communicate the need for graphics and videos outlined on the content schedule with our designers and editors, providing thorough and timely feedback.
  • Liaise between the players onsite and the needs of remote organization management and partnerships.
  • Oversee video and photo shoots are executed to meet the full creative vision and quality standards set by management and partnerships.
  • Provide context and insight on social media trends and opportunities in digital channels to influence branding, creative and solutions for future development and campaigns
  • Ensure seamless execution and workflow management for marketing campaigns, creative
  • requests, and additional cross-functional projects
  • Present social media objectives, KPIs, and goals; deliver monthly reporting and post-mortem analysis; Use data to analyze the effectiveness of marketing programs and find optimizations as well as new opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-5 years experience working in social media, content coordination, or talent management
  • Experience managing and producing social media and content in a fast-paced environment
  • Up-to-date on the latest trends and innovations in the world of Overwatch and Overwatch League
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, detail oriented with attention to schedules and timelines and maintenance of records and materials
  • A self-starter who loves collaboration and is open to feedback and comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of offline and online (Twitch, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat) space; strong understanding of the relationship between brand, media, and consumer
  • Tackle complex and ambiguous problems with a strategic mindset; create thoughtful and tactical action plans for solving those problems
  • Help foster a culture of inclusion and connecting with our fans by having clear goals and strategies
  • Effective project management skills with proven ability to work with various groups to reach a common goal
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to cultivate, strengthen and balance relationships between player and organization managers.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative suite
  • Self-motivated

  • Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 in yearly salary, DOE. As a part of our equitable hiring practices, we target the median for all new hires. The median for this role is $60,000.
