  • Create game development specifications (guidelines) and supporting documentation

  • Educate internal staff on guideline purposes and concepts

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and consistent documentation is created for our global partners

  • Create new guidelines using industry standards.

  • Modify or edit technical documents to accurately reflect the needs of all stakeholders.

  • Manage and align feedback from all internal stakeholders.

  • Communicate with internal and external partners in a highly professional manner.

  • Be a resource to internal testing groups on technical questions, guidelines and concepts

  • Identify trends in questions, failures, etc. to identify improvement opportunities

  • (Bilingual) Translates technical documents and source code maintaining relevant style

  • (Bilingual) Provides translation and interpretation support for meetings with NCL Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how game technology and programming interacts with game software.

  • (Bilingual) Understand the intent of documentation, in the native language, and ensure that the intent is communicated to all stakeholders in the localized language.

  • (Bilingual) - Choose the equivalent expression in the target language that both fully conveys and best matches the meaning intended in the source language (referred to as congruity judgment).

  • (Bilingual) Ability to accurately translate e-mails, documents, and other communication in Japanese and English with equal efficiency and quality.


  • One to three years of related experience in localization of technical documentation

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Nintendo products

  • Knowledge of video games and hardware platforms

  • Programming experience preferred

  • Excellent understanding of Japanese business culture and etiquette.

  • Demonstrated experience resolving complex issues in creative and effective ways.

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, problem solving and cross-group collaboration

  • Team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment

  • Positive approach to work and co-workers, even in stressful situations

  • Ability to respond to changes in work priorities and/or project schedules in a flexible and responsive manner

  • Experience with Content Management System and Translation Management System used in multilingual environments

  • Copy editing and proofreading skills

  • AA in Business, Language, or equivalent work experience or certification

  • Project Management Certification preferred

  • Valid passport required

  • Valid Drivers’ License may be required
