Description Of Duties

  • Analyzes and streamlines the workflows of departments and groups that contribute to game development, with a focus on localization, by proposing improvements to existing game development tools and, where necessary, new tools to meet future needs
  • Pro-actively communicates on a regular basis with NOA stakeholders of the game development infrastructure, including but not limited to end-users, technical support personnel in IT, and their leadership teams
  • Leads efforts to integrate existing in-house web-based tools with the next generation of Nintendo’s game development tools via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) provided by NCL and, where necessary, asking for updates and improvements to those APIs
  • Continuously drives increased awareness and adoption of Nintendo’s game development tools across NOA in order to improve the efficiency of global game development
  • Consolidates and prioritizes NOA stakeholder requests and needs, and then plans and manages the corresponding technical implementation with NCL and NOE
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with other contributors to the game development environment in Japan and Europe
  • Maintains knowledge base related to current development tools and trends
  • Troubleshoots localization-related technical issues and provides broader IT support for the localization group
  • Works with highly sensitive and confidential material on a regular basis
  • Less than 10% travel, domestic and international

Summary Of Requirements

  • A combined total of 4 or more years of work experience in the below fields
  • 2-4 years of technical project management experience, ideally related to the creation of development tools
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical ideas to those without technical backgrounds, as well as the ability to turn user stories into concrete technical specifications
  • 2-4 years of development experience, ideally creating development tools and/or libraries, using languages and frameworks such as C++, C#, Ruby, Python, Node.js. Vue.js, WPF, etc.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience using:
    • Cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
    • Virtualization tools such as OpenStack, VMware, vSphere, etc.
    • Containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
    • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Strong network systems and database knowledge
  • Solid understanding of microservice design and structure
  • Japanese language ability would be a plus but is not required
  • An undergraduate degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent
  • Valid passport may be required
