Nintendo of America’s Finance Department is looking for a Sr Accountant focused on revenue accounting! The person will help to support our digital revenue accounting efforts. Alongside revenue accounting experience strong analytics, time management, organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex issues is required.

Description Of Duties

  • Provides professional level financial, accounting and reporting duties for moderate to complex functional areas
  • Provides historical and future-based financial analysis, fiscal performance and accounting functions for assigned area of responsibility
  • Identify needed improvements in business processes and internal controls, and works closely with management to design and implement improvements to ensure compliance with GAAP, JSOX and federal and state tax requirements
  • Assesses the impact of new/modified GAAP on processes and procedures
  • Monitors key internal control points for process integrity
  • Assesses and recommends the appropriate accounting and reporting of moderately complex transactions and activities
  • Generates monthly, quarterly and ad hoc financial and management reporting
  • Monitors accuracy and timeliness of accounting processes for assigned areas
  • Performs month-end, quarterly, and annual closing activities and financial reporting duties, including accruals, adjustments, reconciliations, variance explanations and documentation
  • Develop and analyze financial projection information based on historical trends
  • Compares actual to projected expenses by project and analyzes variances
  • Assists in establishing and implementing new or modified systems, accounting methods, and procedures relating to production activities
  • Works closely with IT on development, test and implementation of accounting systems and modifications
  • Works closely with other areas of business to implement new/modified processes, accounting methods and procedures relative to area of responsibility
  • Acts as backup subject matter expert to the manager for the functional area and may represent the team, department or manager on projects and/or meetings as needed
  • Participate and lead ad hoc projects within defined parameters in support of team and department
  • May lead or coach less experienced team members

Summary Of Requirements

  • Four to six years of related experience
  • In depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience in financial statement analysis
  • Knowledge of automated accounting systems (Oracle EBS preferred)
  • Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills (Excel and Word preferred)
  • Experience with preparation of consolidated financial statements and financial reporting preferred
  • Public audit background preferred
  • Experience providing reporting and analysis to management required
  • Experience presenting reporting and analysis to management preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent
  • CMA or CPA preferred
