Recognised in our sector by an extensive, reputable history and broad product range, Nintendo Australia is recruiting a Media & PR Specialist to join our team on a 12-month, fixed term parental leave contract.

Reporting into the Events and Communications Manager and working across all PR-related functions of the marketing department, this role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and engaging corporate messages to gaming and related media and audiences.

You will be expected to act in accordance with Nintendo's DNA – Originality, Flexibility and Sincerity - and Company Values – Open Communication, Consideration for Viewpoints of Others, Spirit of Service, Intellectual Curiosity and Originality & Flexibility.

Key requirements for the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Proactively planning and implementing localised PR strategy to drive earned audience reach across the AUNZ market.

  • Facilitating the preparation, approval management and distribution of media blasts and press releases.

  • Coordinating the distribution of product samples to relevant media contacts to attain maximum exposure for our products.

  • Planning and coordinating communication between Nintendo and external media-related parties, ensuring a uniform and professional approach and reflecting a positive image for the organisation.

  • Maintaining the current media database and assisting in developing new media opportunities in line with marketing and corporate objectives.

  • Maintaining positive working relationships with all relevant media, whilst providing regular reporting to internal stakeholders on key metrics.

To succeed in the role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 4 years of proven experience working independently in a similar role.

  • Tertiary qualification in Public Relations or related discipline (highly desirable).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate courteously with all stakeholders.

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude with a strong work ethic.
