Nintendo is looking for a superstar Manager, Public Relations to join us in our mission of putting smiles on people’s faces with games and systems that offer something for everyone. The ideal candidate will have strong background in product PR and celebrity relations and will be responsible for driving product publicity and related programs. The candidate should have deep knowledge of celebrity communications, traditional media and social media strategies, as well as the latest trends in marketing and strategic communication. Description Of Duties

  • Develops and manages all phases of product publicity across multiple products including pre-launch, launch and post-launch timing
  • Leads Celebrity relations program, working with outside agencies to ensure high caliber celebrity inclusion for NOA events and tactics.
  • Develops and implements best practices for working with celebrities including ensuring legal standards and Federal Trade Commission requirements are met.
  • Manages process for creating and executing contracts with celebrities for PR, owned social programs and working with Consumer Marketing on advertising spokesperson initiatives
  • Drafts extensive PR plans and strategies to be utilized throughout all phases of marketing campaigns, with proven experience in developing breakthrough, integrated programs
  • Closely collaborates with marketing and functional teams across the organization for a 360 approach to PR planning and execution
  • Develops and maintains relationships with video game and consumer media as well as other key industry influencers
  • Organizes media interviews and visits
  • Manages the development and execution of select social media and influencer programs
  • Develops and edits written materials including plans, press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, and FAQs
  • Tracks program-specific budgets
  • Plans, manages and attends key product and industry related events (small and large)
  • Manages assigned PR agency functions
  • Prepares reports and presentations as well as provides post mortem analysis on PR and celebrity activities as needed. May be required to present reports to senior leaders and executive management team at Nintendo
  • As designated, may represent Nintendo as an official corporate spokesperson; successful completion of training required
  • Key liaison with parent company and other Nintendo offices (i.e. NCL, Nintendo of Europe), including frequent communication and coordination around product PR planning, events and execution
  • Makes strategic decisions involving planning, media/influencer/celebrity relations and communications
  • Interfaces with executive management
  • May assist with special projects as assigned
  • May manage one or more direct reports

Summary Of Requirements

  • Minimum six years of experience in public relations, celebrity relations, marketing, public affairs and/or journalism
  • Experience with media relations required
  • Strong knowledge, experience and practical application of social media and influencer strategies is critical
  • Experience with event planning and/or promotions required
  • Experience with managing budgets
  • Undergraduate degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, a related field, or equivalent
