This is a CONTRACT position

Description Of Duties

  • Writes and edits game text, scripts, manuals, marketing summaries and other copy
  • Provides input regarding localizing Nintendo products
  • Writes, proofs and edits game text, game scripts, instruction manuals, package copy and game summaries to support products and services through launch and beyond
  • Tests and evaluates games and products and makes recommendations regarding design and content
  • Assists other Nintendo of America Inc.(NOA) departments with game-related support including demonstrating games internally and capturing video and screen shots
  • Provides input in schedule creation
  • Assists with the planning and direction of voice recording sessions
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel
  • Acts as spokesperson for Nintendo by presenting games to media, participating in interviews, and supporting other promotional efforts
  • Generates game-related content for websites, social media, and other consumer-facing portals

Summary Or Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in creative writing
  • Strong creative writing skills
  • Good game play skills and the ability to identify design and content issues
  • Comprehensive historical and current knowledge of the video game industry for both the home and arcade markets helpful
  • Experience in the technical and/or artistic aspects of the industry helpful
  • Copywriting/copyediting experience highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Undergraduate degree in English, Creative Writing, a related field, or equivalent
  • Valid passport may be required
  • This is a CONTRACT position
