Location: Work from home (UK only) or from our brand-new studio in Cambridge, UK.

About us: Ninja Theory is a five-time Bafta award winning games company based in Cambridge, UK and part of Xbox Game Studios. Our Mission is: To Craft Life-changing Art with Game-changing Tech and we are building the team that will help us fulfil that promise. 

Your Role: You will be responsible for aspects of the design, implementation and maintenance of the studio’s character rigging, animation, and studio-wide asset management pipelines. This is a highly diverse and collaborative role. It touches on multiple aspects of development, working cross department to solve complex problems and provide pipeline support in a rapidly evolving environment. The ability to meet individual and departmental needs within the overall studio vision of a unified approach to development is key.

Requirements

Your skill: A relentless problem solver driven by a desire to remove blockers for artists and to empower them to create exceptional quality at scale.

You will have:

  • The ability to critically evaluate existing workflows, suggesting and implementing improvements
  • The ability to develop powerful new workflows with a clear and intuitive end-user experience.
  • Excellent Python skills, with the ability to write clear, well-structured, and documented code for multiple DCC packages, Unreal Engine and proprietary tools.
  • Experience with C++ would be a bonus but is not essential.

Your experience: As well as the above skills you will also have:

  • A thorough understanding of current rigging and animation pipelines with production experience in this area on at least one recently shipped AAA title.
  • Awareness of cutting-edge animation and rigging technologies is essential, with hands-on experience a significant bonus.

As a bonus, we’d also love you to have

  • Hands-on authoring of bespoke character control/deformation rigs.
  • Practical experience with asset management systems
