Level: Senior

Location: Work from home (UK only) or from our brand-new studio in Cambridge, UK.

About us: Ninja Theory is a five-time Bafta award winning games company based in Cambridge, UK and part of Xbox Game Studios. Our Mission is: To Craft Life-changing Art with Game-changing Tech and we are building the team that will help us fulfil that promise.

Your Role: You will be engaged at every stage of production, from involvement in pre-vis and look development to creating exceptional quality final lighting for photo-real environments and characters. Using light and colour you will help convey emotional experiences, drive narrative storytelling, set atmosphere and direct attention for both gameplay and cinematic content while ensuring the overall creative direction is met.

Requirements

Your skill: An in-depth knowledge of cinematography principles, lighting and colour theory, with the enthusiasm and ability to use this effectively in a real-time environment.

A passion for real-time is essential; the desire and ability to bring film-quality to our in-game assets while ensuring they are appropriately optimised is of critical importance. This is a highly collaborative environment, working alongside others to resolve technical and creative challenges is key.

Your experience: You will have production experience as a lighting artist for film/TV or high-end real-time applications, an understanding of digital imaging principles and the creation of calibrated lighting environments to aid the look development process.

Real-time cinematic lighting, baked/dynamic lighting and lighting optimisation using modern game engines is a definite bonus, but not essential.

Our Values: Greatness through Excellence, Teamwork & Integrity

We offer great pay, wide-ranging benefits and flexible working arrangements so you can focus on what matters. We avoid hierarchy, egos and crunch, preferring trust, talent and experience to see us through. You will be part of an inclusive group of ninjas who know what it takes to succeed, and who will encourage and support you to do the same.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a BAFTA Award winning studio in the Xbox Game Studios Group and be part of pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment.
