We work with the biggest and best names in the global games, media, and hardware industries, such as Wargaming, Google, and Nvidia. Performing primary consumer research for clients within these markets is one of our core activities as a market intelligence firm.

As a market-research-focused data engineer/ data processing specialist, you will be part of the consumer research team that conducts custom and syndicated quantitative research projects. You will be responsible for driving our efficiency and automation road map of the market research cycle and drive adoption/education among the research team. Moreover, you’ll be the direct link to our data foundation/platform teams to ensure the smooth integration of collected market research data into our proprietary analytics platform.

Who are we looking for?

A self-motivated individual with a critical and analytical mindset, excellent social skills, always looking for new ways to improve and enhance the current status quo. You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a team, as well as individually to streamline and enhance data processes and workflows of market research projects related to the gaming industry. Experience in the market research or gaming industry is a big plus.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Driving our efficiency and automation roadmap across all stages of the research process (automation of soft launch checks, data weighting, data validation and processing, reporting, etc.)
  • Designing and maintaining applications and databases; this includes updating and fixing coding errors and other related problems (e.g. question library and translation web applications)
  • Support and educate the research team on efficiency in data processing scripts
  • Setting up a streamlined data processing workflow for our global 30+ country research study
  • Using statistical techniques to interpret data sets, identify trends and patterns that could be valuable to the research.
  • Preparing reports for stakeholders that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and replicate the analysis if necessary.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related field;
  • 2-6 years relevant work experience, ideally with market research or market intelligence agency;
  • Strong analytical writing and communication skills in English (fluent);
  • Experience with data processing/statistical/data management tools/packages (SQL, SPSS, SAS, etc.);
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, Javascript, R or related language is a plus;
  • Experience in building machine ls for business application preferred;
  • Passionate about video games and/or esports is considered a plus;
  • Ideally you are based in NL, but working remotely is also possible (you would have to work for us as a freelancer in case of not being registered in The Netherlands).
