Job Description

As the Business Lead of the Newzoo Platform, you will report directly to Newzoo’s Management Team. You will develop, own, and execute the long-term vision and business strategy for the Platform as well as the business plan. You will help to position it strongly within our target markets as an indispensable destination for anyone with an interest in games. Prioritizing and enabling marketing and sales activities for the different product subscriptions (e.g. Pro, Expert, Reports) is part of your daily job, working closely together with commercial, marketing and product development leaders.

You will feed new market opportunities into the product development roadmap and help set long- - and short-term priorities by quantifying the commercial impact against required efforts. In doing this, you will work closely with the Head of Platform and individual product owners who are responsible for continuous product optimization based on client feedback and usage data.

In brief, you will play a pivotal role between the various markets that we serve and the teams within Newzoo that contribute to the Platform’s success. Our main markets include game development and publishing, sports, media and brands, telecom and mobile services, hardware and gaming peripherals as well as finance and consulting.

Newzoo is already world famous for its reports, market sizing, and forecasts. Your aim will be to make our Platform equally known and trusted as the gold standard destination for anyone with an interest in games. Your experience in building a scalable platform business will inspire and take our company, staff, and brand to the next level. Ideally you have experience with data and insights as the core component of a subscription business as well as serving companies in the ever-changing and extremely demanding games industry.

You will outline and evangelize the platform’s long-term strategy and short-term business priorities, both internally and externally. Your Responsibilities

  • Accelerate the growth of our platform revenues across all target markets by developing, owning, and executing the the vision, strategy and business plan for the Platform
  • Position our Platform and its individual products as the gold standard subscription service for anyone with an interest in games; focusing on its proposition, value creation for our clients and an excellent user experience.
  • Initiate, gather, and prioritize market and business opportunities for Newzoo’s Platform and its products based on short- and long-term commercial impact;
  • Evangelize the Platform vision and business strategy internally and externally; Report on the Platform’s business performance on a monthly basis;
  • Oversee overall and product-specific performance of the Platform in terms of usage and sales conversion to shape platform strategy; Work together with the Head of Platform and product owners to inform other teams;
  • Inspire and motivate individuals within the business, commercial, and product development teams. Actively share your experience, expertise, and relevant best practices;
  • Build relationships with some of our biggest clients and prospects. Grow and maintain a global industry network within our field, allowing you to spot commercial opportunities.

Your Profile

  • 5-10 years of experience in running a scalable platform business, including proven success within a scale-up environment;
  • Experience in growing a business built on data and insights, preferably serving games and entertainment as key markets;
  • High level of knowledge of the latest developments and successful innovations in SaaS platform engagement and monetization;
  • Strong industry network in games and/or tech;
  • Ability to easily connect with people, excellent at building relationships, and drive to inspire and guide people within and outside your organization;
  • Proven track record of playing a central role between product development and commercial teams;
  • Ability to convert data into business recommendations;
  • Energetic, dynamic personality with strong work ethic;
  • Exceptional communication, visualization, and presentation skills;
  • Passion for video games and/or esports;
  • Flawless business English both written and spoken;
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience;
