Nerd Street Gamers provides an opportunity for gamers to gain experience in competitive esports events, and they also are home to a community of like-minded amateur gamers. Our product offering includes facilities, event management, and broadcast production with an underlying software framework that ties it all together. In short, we’re helping to build the infrastructure of esports. And we’re looking for talented, high-energy team members who can collaborate in a professional-minded, high-paced environment.

We are looking for a Shift Leader to oversee operations and workers during scheduled shifts. Shift Leader responsibilities include managing cash, resolving conflicts, and checking equipment. Ultimately, you will ensure all aspects of your shift run smoothly and effectively. If you’re a leader committed to quality service and have experience in our industry, we’d like to meet you.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serves as the main point of contact for team members when Store Manager is unavailable
  • Trains new and current team members on tasksAcknowledges that providing a first-class customer service experience is a top priority and is a role model to the team
  • Assigns duties to team members to ensure that goals are being achieved
  • Provides appropriate direction and feedback to team members as needed
  • Monitors team member’s performance and provides necessary coaching and course correction
  • Addresses customer and employee concerns
  • Ensures health and safety protocols are being followed
  • Provides troubleshooting knowledge as needed
  • Opens and closes facility as directed
  • Answers phone calls and handle general inquiries
  • Maintain cash controls to include - overseeing point of sale system and all cash and credit card transactions
  • Maintains the daily cleanliness, organization, and replenishing of inventory on a consistent basis
  • Provides event staff with the necessary assistance in the form of troubleshooting and logistics on event day
  • Oversees inventory management
  • Provides additional assistance to the store manager and performs additional tasks as directed

Requirements

  • 1+ Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role
  • Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations
  • Dedicated to excellent service
  • Working well within a team
  • Leadership skills and ability to make decisions fast
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • High school diploma is preferred
