Nerd Street Gamers provides an opportunity for gamers to gain experience in competitive esports competitions, and they also are home to a community of like-minded amateur competitors. Our product offering includes facilities, event management, and broadcast production with an underlying software framework that ties it all together. In Short
A successful senior Design Technologist will help create and maintain features on our esports event management, ecommerce, facilities management, and content production systems. In addition to writing code they will participate in general design systems architecture, and ensure our systems adhere to software quality standards and best practices.
What We Are Looking For
- Has deep experience in Design Systems and a solid current understanding of how web technologies work
- Has strong familiarity curating design systems using technologies such as Storybook or Figma
- Has deep experience building HTML and CSS component systems
- Has deep understanding of accessibility standards
- Has experience in reactive web frameworks - preferably React using NextJS and Typescript
What We Like To See
- 3+ years of experience writing code for web-based software
- Is interested in working as an individual contributor writing code
- Can be autonomous and self-driven
- Is interested in participating in code reviews and having their code reviewed
- Can architect solutions that balance implementation time, business need, and maintainability
- Has in-depth experience in applying SOLID and Clean code principles.
- Has experience with Javascript testing via Mocha, Jasmine, Jest or a similar unit testing tool.
- Enjoy helping other developers grow and learn new technologies
- Has strong UX and design sensibilities
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
