We are looking for a programmer to explore forward-looking online service solutions for future product needs. Are you interested in understanding how one of the most stable and available MMO platforms is operated and maintained? Do you have passion to push boundaries on existing world class technology and infrastructure? Do creative challenges surrounding availability and scale get you out of bed in the morning? If any of the above facets of our work sounds appealing, we would love to hear from you!

WHY JOIN THE PLATFORM TEAM

The Platform team works closely with many other teams from engineering, analytics, release management, customer service and more. We thrive on a wide array of perspectives, experiences, and interests. We know that the best creations come from healthy and friendly teams, supported by effective communication. Our work is woven together with the efforts of other disciplines and crafts within game development. We seek out voices and ideas that might be new to us. We are always on the lookout for ways to help each other, both within the Platform team, and throughout the studio as a whole.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

You’ll need to be comfortable with C++ and knowledgeable with cloud services (along the lines of Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or similar). You’ll also need to be willing to work on different project phases, design, implementation, testing, maintenance, or all of the above. We will be asking you to work with some autonomy, and also be involved in decision making around tools and procedures. It will be essential for you to communicate effectively and potentially work closely with others to find approaches and strategies that will enable our varying clients to be successful over the long term. ArenaNet is committed to celebrating and nurturing our staff, along with our wide variety of perspectives, backgrounds, experiences, and ideas, so you'll need to be willing to engage and collaborate with a range of other team members within the studio, as well as uphold our collective values.
