Naughty Dog is looking for a Studio HR Manager to join our studio. We are looking for someone with a “can do, will do” attitude, who is willing to roll up their sleeves and jump in where needed. This HR Manager will ensure that employees in the studio are happy and engaged while internal HR processes run smoothly. This role will work closely with Naughty Dog’s leadership team as well as PlayStation Studios’ HR Business Partners to plan and lead all aspects of human resources activities in studio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with studio leadership to establish and support a strong, positive studio culture and inclusive environment; creates a safe space for all employees
  • Plans and conducts employee orientation activities to foster a positive integration experience for new hires
  • Assist HR Business Partners in rolling out company-wide HR initiatives to studio
  • Assists studio leadership with employee-relations activities and programs, including but not limited to, employee counseling, employee development, career planning, policy interpretation and compliance
  • Communicate employee concerns/requests, anticipate issues, and recommend resolutions to the studio
  • Partners with studio leadership to create learning and development programs and initiatives
  • Provides expert coaching and advice to managers and employees
  • Maintains the company’s HRIS system, ensuring information is entered in a timely and accurate manner
  • Promotes and coordinates studio wellness and engagement initiatives
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness and compliance
  • Guarantees adherence to employment laws and company guidelines
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation; conducts exit interviews to resolve reasons behind separations; provides periodic reports to studio leadership
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; PHR or SHRM-CP a plus
  • 5+ years previous experience and proven results within HR in a fast paced, creative environment. Video games industry experience a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of HR principles and practices
  • Proven track record of being able to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels and from various backgrounds
  • Capability to analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, make recommendations, and develop programs
  • Ability to coach and influence positive change in all employees
  • Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems; Workday experience a plus
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deliver results in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
