Location: Flexible working, 1-2 days in central London office

Hours: 30 hours per week across 4 days

Overview

NSE (National Student Esports) has grown rapidly since its inception in 2018 and is now the largest grassroots gaming community in the UK. Across everything, we take a student-first approach to ensure we always add value to the community. We elevate students’ university esports experience, helping them now and in their future careers. We use our knowledge to help academic institutions, games publishers, and sponsors support the student community.

Role Summary

We’re looking for interns to support the NSE team at different points during 2022. Due to the Winter Internship spanning over university term time, these are best suited for non-students available for full time work. The Summer Internship is open to non-students as well as students on their summer break.

The successful candidates will be working on primarily community and admin projects, but will gain insight into all aspects of the business. We are looking for somebody who might not have the expertise or experience, but someone with a passion for esports wanting to get their foot in the door of the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Various administrative projects e.g. reaching out to members of the community, societies, organising deliveries etc.
  • Assist in moderating the NSE Discord & Twitch channel
  • Gathering information and relevant community feedback where necessary
  • Drafting social media posts
  • Harness and promote community engagement and passion
  • Supporting online and community events

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required

  • Strong communication skills
  • Passionate about gaming and esports
  • Experience of Discord, Twitch, and other social media channels
  • Highly organised, proactive, and community-minded
  • Team worker

NSE (National Student Esports) operates the British University Esports Championship powered by Intel, the official esports competition of British universities. In the 21/22 academic year the competition saw over 2,000 teams from over 100 universities compete across a number of esports titles, with over 70% of participants enrolled on a STEM course.

As the official body of university esports in the UK - through our partnership with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS), NSE has established itself as a key figure in the UK esports industry with the most active grassroots gaming community in the country.
