We are currently looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team and be based in our Los Angeles, CA office. This position will report directly to our VP of Finance will be responsible for leading, driving, and providing support on all accounting-related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NetSuite ERP system implementation as an administrator, and maintain revenue recognition module in the ERP system
  • Maintain the revenue recognition policy, associated with all revenue streams, including reviewing customer contracts to test and document each revenue stream in contract and revenue recognition method, preparing technical memos, and collaborating with external auditors.
  • Hands-on involvement and integral contributor to the full cycle accounting process including journal entries, month-end close, and financial statements.
  • Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and researching all discrepancies.
  • Oversee a full-cycle AP process, including the review of invoices and coding with accuracy, collecting relevant tax documentation, and timely payments
  • Manage accounts receivable including collections, credit checks, aging, bad debt, and ensure compliance with agreements
  • Maintain technical accounting documentation for compliance with GAAP
  • Provide significant support to the external financial audit process.
  • Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and review of risk areas
  • Generate third-party participation reports and payments
  • Perform budgeting variance and forecasting analysis for various levels of management
  • Spearhead process improvement initiatives benefiting the accounting team, which s/he/they will build and supervise.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending improvements.
  • Be a key contributing member in maintaining an environment of best in class internal controls.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new process and procedures to allow scale and increase the efficiency of the month-end close, including new systems improvements and utility from the ERP system

Requirements

  • Must have an Accounting or Business degree and at least 7 years of experience
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Strong understanding of the AP and accrual process a must
  • Expertise in Excel and report writing software
  • Experience with preparing journal entries, working through debits & credits, and ability to demonstrate how those numbers flow through the financial statements
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to exceed expectations both as a team player and as a sole contributor
