Multitap Gaming Hub was created so those amazing moments when gaming at home can now happen together in a friendly and safe environment.

Main description

Multitap Gaming Hub is a new gaming arena on the London/Essex border. Our mission is to bring people together through gaming and grow a safe and inclusive community within the local area.

We are looking to grow quickly after a tough year and are actively seeking hard working and motivated candidates to grow with us. We are currently a small team and anyone who joins us will have the opportunity to have a big impact on Multitap’s success and future.

Gaming tournaments and events are the lifeblood and identity of gaming venues. This is a great chance for the right candidate to build up our events schedule from the ground up in a very exciting and rewarding industry. Events will include tournaments, eSports events, themed events, launch events and sponsor events. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with great social media expertise and an ability to market events.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Research, plan and market future events
  • Schedule, coordinate and host events
  • Communicate with team members, suppliers and sponsors
  • Day to day duties include serving customers and serving food and drink
  • Able to work evenings and weekends

Salary

We are offering salary increments over the duration of the apprenticeship. The final agereed salary will be dependant on skillset and experience. Performance related bonuses will be offered

In the first 3 months we will pay our apprentice a baseline salary of £6,710 per annum (pro rata).

After the probation period is complete, we will review an increase based on performance. We will not pay below the national minimum apprenticeship wage.

Working Pattern

Our busiest hours take place during evenings and weekends. Candidates will need to bear this in mind when applying for the role and ensure they are available to commit to the role. More to be discussed during interviews.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at Grades A*-C or 9 – 4 (including English & Maths), Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Skills required

This position requires energy and motivation and the ideal candidate will rely more on social skills than academic qualifications. Most importantly we aim to provide a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all ages and skills and this must be practised by all staff at all times.

  • Experience of eSports events are preferred
  • Communication skills are paramount as we are a team business
  • Perfect social skills
  • Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets and emailing are essential
  • Advanced skills with social media are preferred
  • Organisation skills to balance work and course work
  • Graphics, photography and photo editing experience is a bonus

Personal qualities

  • Knowledge and passion for gaming and eSports is essential
  • Polite

  • Great communicator

Things to consider

You will need to demonstrate excellent levels of commitment to both the qualification and job role. You will work at Multitap Gaming Hub 80% of the time, and study in further education 20% of the time.
