Director of R&D - Common Infrastructure

We're looking for an experienced R&D Manager to join our rapidly growing company and lead the development of our common services that are shared between multiple game studios . As Director of R&D you will be responsible for building and guiding teams of energized, brilliant and creative engineers to work on unique challenges of scale and performance while keeping a fast pace of deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Build teams of backend and mobile developers responsible for common services, Infrastructure and SDKs
• Lead engineers in Moon Active Scrum-teams in Tel Aviv and offshore
• Manage the teams, including their projects, goals, and deadlines and build positive working relationships with the different stakeholders
• Contribute to the products roadmap
• Work alongside Architects, Product and other R&D managers in the different game studios to deliver new capabilities and value to the company
• Play a major role in our strategic growth as an R&D team - technology and process wise

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in application design and development
• 5+ years of senior R&D management position
• Experience in building R&D teams from the ground up
• Strong understanding of Backend technologies and architecture
• Working experience with high-scale distributed backend systems written in Node.js/Java/C#/Python/Go
• Experience with NoSQL and key value DB’s (e.g Redis)
• Experience with microservices and kubernetes
• Experience in working with cloud-based architectures and AWS specifically
• Ability to carry requirements from early phase to full implementation
• Experience with mobile development is a plus
• Fluent in English (written and verbal)
