Coordinator of Esports (Full-Time)

Reports to: Director of Athletics & Campus Recreation

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

*This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances.

**This position requires a pre-employment drug screening test as a condition of employment.

BASIC PURPOSE:

The Coordinator will oversee the Esports facility, programs, special events and recruitment. The Coordinator will provide a diverse array of Esports programming that will attract participation from a broad spectrum of students. They will be responsible for recruiting and retaining students in the Esports program and coordinating practice and competition schedules. The Coordinator is a College-wide role and will represent MCCC Esports to internal departments, external Esports entities, community members, and provide positive leadership to MCCC Esports student-athletes both on and off campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate camps, clinics, and promotional events and work with partner programs to actively recruit new students.
  • Create and maintain handbook with guidelines and requirements for Esports program.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to develop student-athletes both academically and athletically.
  • Promote the academic progress and graduation of student-athletes, including assisting with enforcement of the mandatory study program.
  • Schedules and provides instruction for all practices, competitions, and events within College NACE, and NJCAAe guidelines including a physical component.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the gaming facility.
  • Work with the foundation office with regards to sponsorship opportunities within the eSports business world.
  • Work with career services to develop partnerships with industry leaders to provide professional development opportunities for Esports athletes.
  • Work with faculty mentors with regards to integrated learning opportunities for students.
  • Ensuring team compliance with all league, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Provide support for College wide events/athletic contests.
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education/Training/Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field
  • Experience working in athletics
  • Excellent administrative, oral and written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate a vision for a collegiate Esports program at MCCC.
  • Knowledge of eSports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Internet, email, database, spreadsheet, word processing, discord, twitch, and presentation experience.
