Modern Wolf is a progressive, indie game publisher. We aim to provide a healthy and fun work environment that is cognitively diverse and inclusive. We encourage applications from gender, racial, and ethnic minority candidates.

The Publishing Producer role is a bit of an odd one. As you will see below, it has quite a varied list of responsibilities, some of which traditionally would be handled by different roles. In line with us being a start-up and trying to find the right people to meet the needs of our developers and the business, we are looking for someone that would find this role exciting and who can imagine solving a wide variety of issues for us, but most importantly, someone who can be of service to our developers.

What does a typical week look like?

  • Collaborate with the CCO and responsible for the running and delivery of all Modern Wolf projects, with the intent of smooth operations and delivery on time and budget.
  • Maintaining all platform portal relationships, submissions and supporting of our developers in this area.
  • Keeping a keen eye on all our projects and flagging up any risks and issues with projects as early as possible and proposing a solution that ensures developer happiness.
  • Collaborate with our developers on creating and reviewing roadmaps and milestones, based on the publishing intent of Modern Wolf, finding a healthy balance with developer needs.
  • Collaborate with a Publishing Analyst on forecasting to achieve sign off for each project prior to signing and maintaining forecasts during the project life cycle.
  • Establish and maintain all project P+L’s and present to the CCO and CEO, to ensure accurate accounting and budgeting.
  • Provide accurate recoup and revenue share data both internally and for our developers, ensuring everyone involved knows where the project stands financially.
  • Collaborate with the CCO, and ultimately responsible for creating and maintaining a strong portfolio of potential outsourcing partners as well development talent, which can be utilized for projects as needed.
  • Collaborate on evaluating potential signings and signed games for opportunities to support user mods, create demos, prologues and other content/technical elements to support our catalogue strategy.
  • Test and evaluate the milestone builds of signed games, both from a perspective of quality assurance as well as gameplay and user experience.

In many ways this role is a second in command position to the CCO of Modern Wolf, and you’d be working closely with Andreas.

What would we like to see?

  • A passion for video games, especially strategy and strategy-adjacent titles, particularly a keen interest in Indie games
  • Experience as a (senior) QA Tester with potential production experience or
  • Experience as a producer with the willingness to help test active projects (full QA will be done externally)
  • Knowledge of , and ideally experience in, roadmapping and project budgeting
  • A good understanding of forecasting and potentially analytics
  • Understanding of the lifecycle of games and the ability to determine priorities based on the current stage of the project
  • Technical knowledge around game engines (Unity primarily) and an understanding of modding in games.
  • Knowledge around platform submissions and portals (Steam, Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo etc.)

This role really is a bit of Jack-of-all-Trades. Don’t worry if you think you don’t have all of the above. It’s very much a role where a desire to do these things can outweigh the actual experience. It would be a great role to learn and grow and be an integral part of our team, but also a great partner for our developers. If this sounds like you, get in touch!
