What you'll be doing:

  • Managing an ambitious, Agile, cross-functional, full-stack Android development team

  • Partner closely with stakeholders (e.g Product, Data, Executive) to ensure the delivery of quality features to deliver a fantastic user experience

  • Aid stakeholders in understanding implementation effort and help guide prioritization efforts

  • Identify issues by analyzing data, processes, and code to remove blockers, improve delivery and recognize areas for refinement

  • Support your team by securing resources, removing blockers, creating alignment and ensuring engagement

  • Act as hiring manager to continue to build out your team to meet changing business requirements

  • Write code that is performant, scalable, maintainable and meets functional requirements. You'll have a significant role and voice in technical decisions in partnership with Tech Leads

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer

  • Prior experience in a technical leadership position a strong asset

  • Obsession with constant process design and iteration to improve engagement and team productivity

  • Strong knowledge of engineering management KPIs and Agile software development processes and practices

  • Experience being part of the recruitment and onboarding process for engineering teams

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently lead and manage a diverse development team in a fast paced environment

  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS EC2, Beanstalk, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, TypeScript, modern Android development all strong assets
