We’re seeking an experienced accountant to oversee this team in the role of Controller. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant, in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will own our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. You will produce financial status reports for the executive team to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.

What you'll be doing:
- Prepare quarterly and annual company financial statements
- Help create and grow the in-house financial structure
- Act as controller by handling billing matters including the accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Run monthly payroll for all active employees
- Issue invoices and perform reconciliations
- Assist the different teams with reviewing of expenses, as assigned
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Own other accounting projects
- Own bank reconciliations
- Prepare GST/QST reports
- Ensure all journal entries are posted to record the business transactions
What we're looking for:
- A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with at least 5 years managing the Finance department
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with QuickBooks and Sage, or similar accounting software
- High level of experience with Excel
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- An open mind and dynamic thinking
- Bilingualism is an asset – strong English is essential
- Based in Montreal
- Experience working in a start up an asset
