The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of operation and team management including recruitment, training, coaching, and retention of quality student-athletes. The Head Coach must guide, develop, and provide leadership in all functions of an effective program. The primary focus is on safety and the academic success of our student-athletes while teaching clay target shooting and incorporating qualities that will create responsible citizens that represent the College positively.

The Head Coach follows rules and guidelines for the sport, develops preliminary budgets, travel and equipment needs, and schedules. The position requires analysis, attention to detail, responsible judgment, decisiveness, initiative, planning and organization, persuasiveness, effective oral and written communication, organizational skills, self-reliance, sensitivity, stress tolerance, commitment to the College, dependability, and a teamwork mentality.

This is a part-time contracted position, and we are expecting it will take about 200 hours for the 8-month contract.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and strategies
  • Ability to work effectively with players, administrators, parents, and the community
  • Knowledge of collegiate sports programs and competitive online gaming rules and eligibility requirements.
  • Skills in managing operations, budgeting, and supervising personnel
  • Must be well organized with the ability to handle multiple assignments as well as maintain records and files as needed
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
  • Must have working knowledge of physical education, athletic, and recreation equipment and facilities

Education, Certification, Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required (or ability to receive cert.).
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required.

Experience:

  • Previous competitive online gaming and coaching experience is preferred.
  • Fundraising experience preferred.
