We are the Esports and Gaming team within the Web Experiences Team (WebXT) organization. WebXT spans the Microsoft ecosystem of web experiences (Edge browser, Search, Ads, Maps, Microsoft Start), aligned on our principal goal to make the web a better place for everyone on the planet. As the team focused on Gaming and Esports, we want to bring the joy of gaming to the more than 1 billion Microsoft users worldwide.

In 2020 we acquired Smash.gg, the #1 Esports tournament management company in the USA. We’ve also released the first Esports HUB at Microsoft. We’re now looking for an experienced Product Manager to help us define and execute our growth strategy for Gaming and Esports. Core to this strategy will be distribution of our content and experiences across Microsoft’s portfolio of products, from Edge and Windows to Bing and MSN/Start.com. We welcome methodically customer-focused and technical leaders that love building product vision, developing new concepts, and driving execution of exquisitely crafted solutions to our customers’ most challenging problems. As a part of this role, you will work closely with a team of Product Managers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Designers and Marketing to build compelling, differentiated experiences that wins the hearts and mind of gamers.

Responsibilities

  • Define the growth strategy for our Gaming and Esports business, along with the product roadmap to execute the strategy.
  • Work with Designers on building the best user experience (UX) across several canvases.
  • Work closely with Engineers to drive the product offerings forward.
  • Leverage market, customer and business insights to direct investments to the products.
  • Conduct A/B experimentation: setting up flights, running them, analyzing the scorecard, and making data-driven decisions for the next rounds, optimizing for the pre-defined KPIs

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management of consumer applications
  • Experience leveraging growth tactics to drive Daily Active Usage (DAU) and engagement growth

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent customer empathy with experience in user-centered design; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly software applications and customer-facing features
  • The ability to think creatively and critically about business issues, product features, architecture, and the ecosystem.
  • Innate curiosity and ability to self-start in an ambiguous and changing environment.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills through all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical - great story-telling
