The Xbox Business Engineering Team is responsible for helping those gamers discover and acquire digital game content, as well as ensuring that developers and publishers have low friction access to our ecosystem. We work closely with partner teams across Xbox, as well as both internal and external game studios. We’re always striving to find new and innovative ways of incorporating the latest in design patterns, cloud tech, and machine learning to create better experiences – all the while, maintaining very high availability services and ensuring the safety and security of our customers’ data.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a leader to manage XBET’s overall engineering initiatives in India.
In this role, you will be managing several managers, architects, and engineers. This team has a focus on back end services, and it has front end responsibilities for internal and publisher facing tools and analytics. This team also works very closely with partner teams inside of XBET and across Xbox to power their user experiences, and to provide data to their back end services.

The right candidate for this position should have practical experience managing front and back-end engineering teams. You will be an experienced people manager who excels at getting the best out of their team by identifying new talent, providing development and growth opportunities for your team, and leading with empathy. You will be working closely with the XBET engineering team in Redmond, USA, as well as other partner teams in Microsoft India, and should have experience working with globally distributed teams.

Qualifications

Desired Skills:

  • 15+ years of professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience with designing, developing, and shipping highly reliable distributed systems and services
  • 5+ years of technical people management of teams of 20 or more
  • 2+ years of managing managers
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS
  • Knowledge of service technologies such as Redis, Kubernetes, Azure Data Lake
  • Knowledge of web technologies such as React/Angular, Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
