In early 2022, Xbox announced plans to acquire Activision Blizzard King, a leader in game development and interactive entertainment content publishing.

To maximize the impact of this and other complex acquisitions, we are looking for an individual to provide day-to-day coordination, program management, leadership to accelerate early win opportunities, drive effective collaboration and strategic integration of acquired companies, and maintain positive momentum. This role will be a member of the Xbox Integrations team, partnering with executives of both companies and functional leaders across Microsoft, Xbox, and the acquired companies.

To thrive in this position, you should:

Have strong functional expertise. Must have a solid understanding of our processes, systems, and standards. Enable acquired teams to rapidly benefit from the broader Microsoft and Xbox ecosystems and function productively within them.

Be an ambassador for Xbox. Help maintain acquired employee momentum, engagement, and retention. Do right by the spirit of the acquisition and what’s best for Microsoft. However, don’t assume conventional Microsoft wisdom always applies. Identify and protect what’s great at the acquired company and bring it back to Microsoft and Xbox.

Be a connector. Develop and maintain relationships with key business and functional leaders across Microsoft and Xbox, as well as within the acquired organization. Forge connections between the two organizations, connecting the acquired teams with Microsoft and Xbox stakeholders on integration opportunities.

Put structure around ambiguity. Ability to succeed in an unstructured, fast-moving, and rapidly changing environment, quickly make sense of the situation and add value. Continually refine new strategies as they emerge and as the new organization evolves, balancing speed with time to absorb the changes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate leadership, engagement, and support for the active management of the integration

  • Develop relationships with key partners across Microsoft, Xbox, and acquired companies

  • Communicate and advocate for integration strategy

  • Protect and preserve acquisition value over the long term

  • Enable acquired companies to stay focused on growing their business and serving their customers, while having support on key and strategic integration activities

  • Ensure plan alignment with leadership priorities

  • Deliver on clear integration/business deliverables

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience supporting mergers and acquisitions

  • 3+ years’ experience managing business metrics such as scorecards and/or defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Executive relationship and/or partner management

  • Understanding of Microsoft organization and culture

  • Game development studio/publisher experience a plus
