Minecraft is one of the most popular video games of all time, with more than 200 million copies sold worldwide on PC, Console and Mobile and over 130 million monthly active users. Minecraft inspires people around the world to create together and has resulted in one of the most active and passionate player communities in history. We are looking for a Business Manager to join the Minecraft business team and help us shape the future of the Minecraft franchise.

As a member of the Business Franchise Team for Minecraft, you will be responsible for analyzing the performance of Minecraft across PC and Mobile (Apple, Google, Amazon), and new platforms. You will cover not just financials but also help drive our understanding at a user level (conversion, engagement, retention, ARPU, etc.) as we develop the Minecraft Franchise. A key emphasis of this role is the ability to model a complex and evolving business. You will build strong relationships with our production, engineering, marketing, community, and business teams. You will be a key part of our focus to deliver insights, which drive an actionable impact on our product roadmap and customer programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply deep insights into the Minecraft Mobile and PC businesses, spanning financials, user engagement, geographical segmentation, and product SKU’s
  • Manage external mobile and PC relationships with partners as the liaison to help coordinate studio-wide programs like (promotions, product launch, policy changes, SKU changes etc.)
  • Manage our store listings with the aim of improving user acquisition via A/B testing video trailer modules, screenshots, keywords, descriptions etc.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, marketing, data science, and business teams to understand our product roadmap and bring data-driven market context & insights to help make the right product recommendations and decisions
  • Provide a strategic lens to the industry on gaming trends, competitive analysis, growth opportunities, and draw insights from 3P research resources (AppAnnie, NewZoo, SuperData etc.)
  • Weigh in on periodic financial reporting and reforecasting to provide insights and improve accuracy
  • Collaborate with data science to improve our analytical toolset and self-servicing capabilities

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in business, finance, management consulting, or equivalent experiences
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong financial background and ability to create complex forecasting models and financial models
  • Strong research ability with an understanding of the strengths/shortcomings of each source and creativity to find close proxies where data is not directly available
  • Proactiveness to chase down information and updates internally and externally and drive projects to completion independently
  • Attention to detail and accuracy along with excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills
  • Track record of strong collaboration across teams and the ability to influence decisions
  • Passion for gaming and entertainment preferred
