Motion Graphics Designer / Video Editor

High Level:

Maxis is looking for a talented individual to join our creative team and help pitch our products and establish our visual identity. In the role of Motion Graphics Designer and Video Editor, you will be responsible for editing, designing, repurposing existing assets and bringing them to life through high quality and innovative motion graphic animation and videos that adhere to Maxis brand guidelines. This is a role for a creative individual with excellent aesthetic judgment, aptitude and enjoyment of technical-creative assignments, and a willingness to collaborate within a team environment. The role requires a highly-organized and detail-oriented motion graphic designer and video editor with a broadly diverse skill set. The ideal candidate has an expert knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere and Photoshop. You will be an integral part of every stage in the creative process, from conceptualization to final edits.

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging multimedia video content through authoring graphics, designing compositions, layouts, illustrations and animation for internal presentations
  • Conceptualize and edit video projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, exporting footage, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management, and archiving project media
  • Manage video library
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and share ideas
  • Prepare design plan, concept, and layout for motion graphic projects
  • Assist in developing visual styles for initiatives across multiple Maxis projects
  • Build templates and overlays that will be used on videos
  • Adhere to Maxis brand guidelines in ways that still push creative boundaries

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience preferred
  • A portfolio of motion graphics design demonstrating breadth, creativity, process, and innovation
  • Strong experience using motion design and editing software (After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D, but also Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Working knowledge of 2D/3D graphics & motion principles and design standards
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comprehend and uphold client brand style guidelines, producing suitable work across multiple styles
  • Mediate creative problems to arrive at the best solution
  • Manage time effectively, ask for help, and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, careful review of their work

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and authoring static graphics for presentations
