Job Description

As part of the Avatar Project, you’ll play an instrumental role in bringing to life the beautiful and dangerous world of Pandora. This is a unique opportunity to keep growing your experience in games while working hand-in-hand with Disney’s creative minds and James Cameron’s production company, Lightstorm Entertainment.

As a Senior User Interface Artist here at Massive you'll ensure we create graphical UI with a distinct feel, which will guide the player's journey across Pandora and improve the overall gaming experience. You'll be guided and mentored by a Lead UI Artist, collaborate with a wider UI/UX team (which includes Technical Artists, programmers, and designers), whilst also working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and disciplines from across our AAA production team.

Massive has established itself as a world-leading game dev studio, with an emphasis on quality and attention to detail. This extends to our UI approach, where we continually push what's expected.

This is a permanent position based in Malmö Sweden and requires working onsite. We kindly ask you to apply with your CV and message to the hiring manager/cover letter in English. Applications will be reviewed whilst the job-ad is posted.

Qualifications

You've an eye for detail, are creative, and enjoy finding innovative solutions to existing game UI and graphical obstacles. Whilst being a great artist, you're also a team player, and have experienced the full production cycle from within a AAA game dev team.

Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:

  • A relevant portfolio of artwork (must include UI Art)
  • Previous experience from a AAA game production team through to release
  • Several years’ experience as a UI Artist on multiple projects
  • Command of various design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect)
  • Relevant degree in an Art/Design field or the equivalent work experience
  • Experience with node-based visual scripting game engines (e.g. Snowdrop, Unreal or Unity) is not required, but a bonus qualification.
